Privacy, in
plain language.

StyleTrip is local-first. Here’s exactly what stays on your device, and when information leaves it.

Effective July 30, 2026

The short version: no account, no ads, no cross-app tracking. Your core wardrobe and trip data stay on your device.

Information stored on your device

Your wardrobe items, photos, trips, destinations, dates, outfits, packing status, generated images, avatar, and app settings are stored locally on your device. StyleTrip does not require an account and does not sync this information to a StyleTrip database. Data may be included in device backups you enable through Apple, subject to Apple’s terms and privacy policy.

Camera, photos, and notifications

  • Camera and photo-library access are used only when you choose to add wardrobe or avatar photos.
  • Notification access is used only if you enable packing reminders.

You can change these permissions in iOS Settings.

Optional AI features

StyleTrip’s core wardrobe, outfit, trip, and packing features work without remote AI generation. If you explicitly enable generation and request an AI feature, the garment photos you select are sent over HTTPS through StyleTrip’s Google Firebase Cloud Functions to the OpenAI API. Photos of you are sent only after a separate avatar consent step and only for avatar or virtual try-on features you request.

StyleTrip sends image data needed for the requested feature; it does not send your piece names, notes, trip destinations, or trip dates with those generation requests. The server returns generated images or garment attributes to the app. StyleTrip does not intentionally save request photos or generated results in a server-side database or storage bucket.

OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models unless the API customer opts in. Under OpenAI’s default API data controls, content may be retained for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring. Image inputs are also scanned for child sexual abuse material, and flagged images may be retained for manual review. See OpenAI’s API data controls.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

StyleTrip does not include third-party advertising, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics. Diagnostic events are written only to the device’s local system log and contain feature names, counts, durations, and result codes—not photos, wardrobe names, notes, destinations, or exact trip dates.

Service providers

When you request an optional AI feature, Google Firebase processes the HTTPS request on StyleTrip’s behalf and OpenAI processes the selected image content to produce the requested result. Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy commitments. The public StyleTrip website may process basic connection data such as IP addresses and request logs; this site does not use analytics or advertising cookies.

Retention and deletion

Local app data remains on your device until you delete it in StyleTrip, use the app’s delete-all-data control, or uninstall the app. StyleTrip does not maintain an account or server-side profile to delete. Third-party processing of optional AI requests follows the provider retention described above.

Security

Remote generation requests use HTTPS. No OpenAI API key is included in the app; requests pass through a server-side endpoint. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please avoid adding content you do not want processed as described in this policy.

Changes

We may update this policy as StyleTrip changes. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the current version.
